about Young Paul

Paul Camilleri

PAUL CAMILLERI, president of Camilleri’s Auto Works, Inc., grew up in an automotive family. His father, Angelo, was a machinist and a master mechanic with a passion for early Fords, Cadillacs and Fire trucks. Paul was bitten by the automotive bug early and as a child would draw vintage autos and build models of famous custom cars (Ed Roth’s were some favorites). Early on he developed a love of painting and would custom paint bicycles and guitars as a teenager for friends and customers. Once he started driving, it was a natural progression to body work and paint on cars. Since 1982 he has been building, restoring and custom painting muscle cars and hot rods for himself and for his customers. Paul has learned professional collision repair and color matching from years of experience in the industry. Having developed a loyal following in the early to mid ‘90’s, he struck out on his own in 1998, opening Camilleri’s Auto Works in a 4000 square foot shop in San Carlos, CA. After six years the decision was made to move his family and business to the Sacramento area where a brand new 6800 square foot facility was built from the ground up with all new equipment and a large heated paint booth. His love of all things mechanical continues to this day with a nice collection of raw hot rod material,( he’ll finish one for himself someday) and a love of guitars and music in general.
